The Facts

It is no lie that the pit bull is one of the most dangerous dogs out there. The majority of the people fear the pit bull not only because of it's history as a fighting dog, but also because of their ferocious attitude. It is also no lie that the pit bull is more aggressive than others dogs when it comes for protection of others. As we look through the history of this dog we can see that it is one of the breeds that holds the crime for most people killed by a dog, along with the Rottweiler.

According to dogsbite.org, "Despite being regulated in Military Housing areas and over 700 U.S cities, pit bulls contributed to 64% (27) of the 37 deaths that occurred in 2014 alone." This does not only show the statistics on how deadly pit bulls can be, but it can also be used as an awareness to show that this breed is dangerous so we need to take caution. Even if a pit bull did not attack in their
lifetime, the risk is always there. Being aware that the pit bull can attack even to their owners is the first step to keeping those near him safe. The second step would be to keep the dog in a safe place where is not danger to others.

In the article Top 10 Most Dangerous Dog Breeds says, "To anyone who knows dogs, the American Pit Bull Terrier is no surprise at #1 on a list of deadliest dogs. In a study where the Pit Bull stood far ahead of all the other breeds with 66 fatalities attributed to it." Along with the Rottweiler coming in second with 39 fatalities. This statistic shows that the pit bull may be on the top of the list, but there are also other dogs to take in count. By letting people know what the problem is, and that is by telling them that the pit bull is a dangerous breed, we can prevent more deaths every year. We would have to encounter less fatalities everyday not only by being aware of the pit bull but also by other breeds.

  1. Your statistics were good, you showed both sides of the argument and were able to counter claim the other side of the argument. I feel like you just didn't convince the people that pitbuls are less dangerous. Try to bring in statistics about how pitbuls are less dangerous.

  2. I like how you show the opposite side more. It's obvious that you see the other side of this^ spectrum so being that this post is more about how dangerous they are shows that you care about the subject. You did at the end say that there is a way to keep them safe so at least your opinion is still showing.
